Учора ввечері ліцеїсти Ірпінського ліцею інноваційних технологій взяли участь в зум-зустрічі з Мартіном Купером – американським інженером та фізиком, членом Національної інженерної академії США, який 3 квітня 1973 року здійснив перший дзвінок по мобільному телефону.

Це була телефонна трубка «DynaTAC» вагою 1 кг, що вважається попередницею всіх сучасних «iPhone» та «Android».

Мартін Купер – це світова легенда та лавреат Вашингтонської премії за досягнення в інженерній справі та за служіння людству. Важливо, що батьки пана Купера свого часу переїхали до США саме з Київщини і його батько проживав в Ірпені.

Ліцеїсти ІЛІТ мали можливість особисто поспілкуватися з Мартіном Купером та його дружиною Арлін Гарріс, разом з якою пан Купер заснували та управляють багатьма компаніями технологічного сектору.

Директор ІЛІТ Марія Гостін передала Мартіну Куперу та Арлін Гарріс вітання від мера міста-Героя Ірпінь Олександр Маркушин, та повідомила, що від імені міського голови та колективу і ліцеїстів ІЛІТ пану Куперу будуть направлені поштою пам‘ятні монети Ірпеня, прапор міста та книга «Битва за Ірпінь».

Мартін Купер був вражений, що учні ІЛІТ вільно спілкуються англійською та ставлять серйозні технічні запитання.

Також пан Купер пообіцяв, що прапор рідного Ірпеня назавжди буде на стіні у його домі.

Марія Гостін та Мартін Купер домовилися, що його графічний портрет буде зображено на стіні ліцею з цитатою пана Купера про ІЛІТ.

Колектив ІЛІТ дякує засновнику видавництва «Самміт Книга» Івану Степуріну та голові UkraineIS, магістру Манчестерського університету Сергію Вакаріну за допомогу в організації конференції.

Yesterday evening, lyceum students of the Irpin Lyceum of Innovative Technologies took part in a zoom meeting with Martin Cooper – an American engineer and physicist, a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, who on April 3, 1973 made the first call on a mobile phone.

It was a 1 kg “DynaTAC” handset, considered the forerunner of all modern iPhones and Androids.

Martin Cooper is a world legend and laureate of the Washington Award for Achievement in Engineering and Service to Humanity. It is important that Mr. Cooper’s parents at one time moved to the USA precisely from the Kyiv region and his father lived in Irpin.

ILIT students had the opportunity to personally communicate with Martin Cooper and his wife Arlene Harris, with whom Mr. Cooper founded and manages many companies in the technology sector.

The director of ILIT, Maria Gostin, conveyed to Martin Cooper and Arlene Harris the congratulations from the mayor of Hero Irpin Oleksandr Markushyn, and informed that on behalf of the mayor and the team and lyceums of ILIT, Mr. Cooper will be sent by mail commemorative coins of Irpin, the city flag and the book “Battle for Irpin”.

Martin Cooper was impressed that ILIT students were fluent in English and asked serious technical questions.

Mr. Cooper also promised that the flag of his native Irpin will always be on the wall in his house.

Maria Gostin and Martin Cooper agreed that a graphic portrait of him would be displayed on the Lyceum wall with a quote from Mr. Cooper about ILIT.
